Black Label Society – the long running project by rock guitar-wiz Zakk Wylde – is back on tour to support a brand new album titled Grimmest Hits. First off, just a quick word about the album. Don’t be mistaken like I was. When I originally saw the album title I thought to myself: “Don’t they already have a greatest hits album?” Well yes, they do. But, Grimmest Hits is not a greatest hits album, it’s a brand new studio effort, and a fine one at that.

In a live setting, BLS is everything that you’d thought they’d be. Zakk Wylde – already a pretty imposing figure – looks massive atop his metal stage riser, hair and fingers flying as he rips through song after song with what seems to be effortless precision. Rhythm guitarist Dario Lorina, bassist J.D. DeServio and drummer Jeff Fabb hold down the bottom end, allowing Zakk to do what he does best.

Catch up with Zakk and band at their official website, or on Facebook.
